Lena's anguish at shoplifting claim
FORMER child pop star Lena Zavaroni spoke last night of her anguish after being accused of shoplifting.
Lena, 35, was stopped at Sainsbury's near her home at Hoddesdon, Herts, after a checkout girl saw a packet of jelly in her shopping bag.
Lena handed it back before storming out of the store.
She said: "I've no idea how it got into my bag. They thought I was trying to pinch it. It was very upsetting."
No formal complaint has been made against Lena, who lives alone in a one-bedroom tower block flat on benefit.
